I don’t often get sick, but since I started teaching I have been getting wretchedly ill once a semester, so far. A cursory google search suggests that teachers and flight attendants are more likely to suffer from respiratory ailments. Consequently, after this last bout with February Flu, I now possess a medicine cabinet full of potions meant to prevent and defeat the common cold, so hopefully I’ll no longer be a teacher flu tragedy. I have been under blanket mountain for too long now.
I went to the doctor today for good measure and still clocked a 100 degree fever. This is the best I’ve felt in days, and I still am pushing up some decent mercury.
Well, that all being said, I am just starting to get my second wind!
I am excited for the NCBI weekend conferences. This conference, which I have to research a bit further will be taking up questions of diversity and pedagogy, and this excites me greatly. There haven’t been any meetings lately (at least ones that I was aware of) that discuss issues of racism, classism, or homophobia in the classroom. The NCBI schedule looks intense, though. It’s March 7, 8, & 9th, from 8:30 – 4:30 each day. At least that means FREEEEE LUNCH.
Can you send me what the journal 4 was about since i had to leave early last class
